Doctors Ruin Days

[Annah]

"Dad. This is ridiculous. The hospital? You can't be serious. You know I hate doctors." Her pleading was of no use.

Annah's father turned the weel swiftly and pulled into a parkingspot close to the door of the emergency room. He was never one for taking chances, always trying to do what was best for his daughter. But most the time he did what he thought was right not what actually was. Ever since the death of her mother Sandra he had been worried about her. The cars engine cut short and both doors slammed shut. Taking slow steps seemed like a good way to post pone her visit with one of the ever so loved doctors. "Annah hurry up." Her father ordered from a good twenty feet ahead.

By the time she had reached the emergency room her father had filled out the paperwork and was ushering her into a nurse's station. "Were going to take your temperation and blood pressure sweetie." The nurse was an elderly lady probably closer to sixty than fifty. She would have to exchanged expeirence for shakey hands. After five more minutes of questions Annah was shuffled int oa room to wait for a doctor. She remained very quiet not wanting to talk to her father who had drug her into this miserable place. The doctor came in and sent her down to xrays, he seemed concerned with her left wrist.

After the results came back, showing she had a scaphoid fracture, he fitted her up in a cast and sent her on her way. The car ride home was longer than normal, probably due to the silence between them. When they pulled up to the drive way her dad turned to look at her. "Dont be mad at me. It was best." He said. "Im going to the park, dont worry I will be careful." Annah shoved her way out of the car and headed down the block without listening to another word.

She reached the park fifteen minutes later and headed straight to the swings. She remember her mother pushing her so high when she was a child. The park seemed rather empty today. But it didnt bother her.

Jason was in the park waiting for an unexpected person to walk by for his next dinner. When he saw her he thought it was to perfect, she was probably mad at her dad and ran off here. They will be looking for her if she to be discovered dead and he couldn't blow the cover for his whole species that was here. He leaped down from the tree and began to equal her stride and caught up with her, " Well, who are you and what are you doin here on such a gloomy day. He looked around the park it was very foggy and the sun was behind the clouds. He smiled, perfect this is great.

A voice. It was not familiar. No, it was someone Annah had never met. Letting her left leg catch on the ground she stopped the swing and slowly lifted her head to stare at the person before her. It was a man, but more than that she couldnt tell. A thick layer of fog had rolled in and it concelead his features. The girls breathe had started to slow a bit, only by a second or two. Could he tell?

Taking a stand she stood at her full hight. A menacing 5'4". Her eyes squinted trying to make out anything about the man that would warm her whether she should feel safe or terrified. More than likely she wouldnt be able to outrun him. So that option was gone. And she definitly wasnt stronger. The only thing she had was her visions. Maybe this would save her. She focused on him with a great ferocity. Slowly she began seeing, not what was around her but what might be.

The scene was very much the same. The swings right behind her, the fog rolling in only making sight more difficult with each minute, and the trees overshadowing any sun trying to reach the ground. But something was different. The man was no longer in front of her, he had vanished in the fog. He was dangerous, definitly dangerous. And he was hunting. If he was the hunter Annah must be the prey.

Annah pulled herself back to reality, not wanting to witness what may be her death. The man was still looking for his answer. So slowly she began to build up her confidence. trying to not let her voice crack and show the terror she had. "Im Annah. And you are going to kill me." She said. Her voice rang an octive higher at the end and the girl cursed herself at the sound. If she lived through this she would kill herself for that.

Jace stuck his hands out and the fog around him blew away. He was a light featured guy. He had the muscles of a perfesion football player, but didn't show it. His black hair layed carelessly over his eyes. He looked at her, and smiled " You are a bright young girl I don't know if I want to kill you right now. I might just take you back with me and see what I can get out of you." He winked at her and quickly disappered, he reappeared be hind her and walked up without making a noise. " Boo," he whispered softly in her ear and laughed.

A chill ran down her spine when she felt his breath on her exposed neck. She wanted very badly to turn her head but he was so close. Goosebumps rose on her arms and a sudden sence of fright over welmed her. "Im only smart because I can see the future." She whispered back to him. Her dark brown hair brushed across the mans cheek as a breeze passed below. Annah wante dto know what he was thinking. What did he plan on doing?

" I can feel your blood running through your viens. If you can see the future can you see what i'm going to do to you?" He back away a little and waited for her to awnser him. He had to fight of the erdge to bite her, he couldn't right now. She knew what he was and he had to keep her guessing. He herd something snap in the trees and saw it was only a bird that had sat on a thin branch.

[Annah]

"I only see what I want to see. And this isnt really one of those things. But I do know, your a hunter. I wont be just some girl who gets killed. No. I will be the meal tonight." She stood up and looked at him. Her dark eyes searching for something in his face. She was sure her own was rather pathetic at this moment.

[Aaron James Slader]

He smiled and showed his fangs, " Your right about me being a hunter, but I don't know so much about the meal thing." He winked at her and sat down on a swing and started swinging. " I might be a hunter, but that doens't mean I don't have ethics." He laughed softly and got up, he walked over her and stood an inch away from her face. He smelled her, she smelled so good he just wanted one bite and that would be it.

She froze as he came near. "Then what exactly do you want? Dont sheild me from the truth, Im use to unhappy endings. What are you?" She asked, her voice slowly growing in confidence. She felt terrified of this man, but she was intrigued by him all at the same time. Something drew her towards him more with each passing moment. She wanted to know.

He looked at her and smiled, " I'm a Vampire, I planed on killing you, but I'm not sure now." He sighed and then cleared the fog away so she could see everything, he didn't know what to say he was speechless she was so beautiful, and he was a monster.

[Annah]

Annah let that knowledge set in for a moment as she thought carefully what to say. "You dont look like a killer to me. But this still doesnt help me understand why you wouldnt kill me." She paused and took a step closer. She wished to reach out and see if he was like her, or if there was some striking difference between herself and the vampire before her. "Do you like music?" She finally asked him. She wasnt sure if he would understand where her question came from.

He started laughing and looked at her, " Yes I do like music, but it depends on what mood i'm in." He winked at her and then took her hand and stuck it on his chest. " We are the same only i'm a look colder then you are."

[Annah]

"You are cold, but then again ive been told the same thing. But im not sure they were referring to my temperature." She said lightly. "I play piano, thats why I asked." She said clearifying what she had ment. "Whats your name?" she asked curiously.

"My name is Jason, are you anygood at the piano? I've been around long enought to pick up a thing or two." He looked into her eyes and smiled, " Come I have a piano at my place i would love to hear you play it, and trust me no one will kill you."

No one would kill her? Did that mean there were more? Oh well. She had pushed her luck this far might as well learn her limits. But wait, would she be able to play well with this cast on her arm. She held it up and looked at it. "Umm.. Im not sure how much this will affect me." She nodded towards the clunky cast that she detested. She still hadnt forgiven her father for forcing her to a hospital. Annah smiled her crooked smile at the man who was staring at her. She wondered what he was thinking.
